It was Valentine's Day.
I was at our Holiday Inn Express in Anaheim. One of the things that I love about this hotel is that there is a nice outdoor shopping mall right on the same block as the hotel. It was built just a few years ago and makes going to get dinner so nice. I never have to rent a car. This particular night I forgot that it was Valentine's Day. I got to PF Chang's and it was packed. I normally place my order and then walk around the mall and then pick up my dinner and go back to the hotel.

I placed my order and went about my walk. I came back and this sweet pregnant woman was STILL sitting there waiting for her food. We had talked earlier. She had called her order in just after 5. It was now close to 7. We had talked while we were waiting. She needed her dinner to be gluten free and PFChang's offers many gluten free dishes.
Her husband had been circling outside waiting for her. She didn't bring her cell phone in because she thought it would be quick. She had been in the restaurant for an hour. I found a manager so I could complain for her. We complained together.
Apparently they had to remake everything in the kitchen because they couldn't remember what they had made GF and what wasn't from her order and they wanted to be sure. They comped her meal and gave her a generous gift card to come back.
Meanwhile, I insisted she take my cell phone and call her husband. She tried one of his cell numbers and he didn't answer. She tried a different cell number and he answered. She explained she would be out shortly.
When they were bagging up her food, I asked her if she wanted me to text her husband and let him know that she was on her way out - she said no, that it was ok.
I did it anyway!
I can't imagine waiting two hours for food that you called in but I'm not pregnant with a special diet.

I think it's funny that iphone automatically changed the time of the text to be the time zone I was in - so it looks like it happened earlier than it did.
