Really!!?!?!?
I have an employee at the hotel that I'm babysitting at that I have to tell you about....
He was just employed by the hotel prior to me coming here. He is just quite the case. Today, he said that he got his cell phone turned back on. He said that he went over to a guy that he knows and asked if there were any odd jobs he could do. He often goes and waves the flag at his parking lot so people who are looking to go to the race track know that there is paid parking available. The guy told him he could rake his lawn for $8.... which he did. He then took his money to the track and played the slots and ended up with $40. He got his cell phone turned back on. He told me that earlier he tried to get money to turn his phone on by donating blood but his blood pressure was too high and they wouldn't take his blood. I can't recall the last time I met someone who worked so hard to scrape together a few bucks. What a case!

Another funny story of today is when I went to walmart to get a copy of a receipt from a purchase on Monday. The manager literally told me that she couldn't fax it to me when she found it because "they" didn't trust them to fax things and had to pass it on. REALLY!!?!?
I had an employee last night that came to the orientation that I had planned. Right before my orientation the night auditor (front desk clerk who works 3rd shift) called the owner and said that he needed a break, was having a hard time sleeping, was very stressed out and was going to stay by his sister's in Little Rock. REALLY!?!?
Anyway, back to my new employee.... ends up that he is staying with a woman who is a member of the LDS church. He moved to this area just one week ago. Why Hot Springs? Because he had a friend and thought he would connect with him. Turns out the friend is into drugs and such, so he is staying at the friend's room at the friend's house because the friend's mom won't let her own son stay at home (because of his behaviors). He used to go door to door selling magazine subscriptions. Have you ever seen those guys? Last year, he netted just under $100k (according to him) but spent all of his money and was tired of traveling and so he quit. The company he worked for bought him a bus ticket to where he wanted to go and he picked Hot Springs. Seems unreal to me the way that people make decisions. REALLY!?!!
Yesterday, I came downstairs at 9am. I ended up going upstairs to go to bed at 6:30am. I came back down at 11am. It is now just after 11:30 and I'm headed to bed. Have a conference call in the morning but should be able to sleep in a little bit and I'm looking forward to it!
NIGHT!
