What a long day of travel.

My flight was supposed to be leaving Phoenix at 6:25. On my way to the airport, I checked on my flight and found out that it was running two hours late for departure. I thought ok, well I'm no longer in a hurry.
I got to the airport and got settled down to wait.
The flight changed gates several times. I was amused by the murmuring from all the people who got excited when they were asked to move to C2 to C6.
We finally boarded our plane around 8pm.
An hour later we were still just sitting on the plane.
1/2 hour later we were alerted that we were in a long line of planes trying to leave.
We landed in New Orleans at 2:30.
Got my luggage and hopped on the Alamo shuttle to pick up my rental car. I had rented a car through Enterprise but they close at midnight. I have had this happen before and had no problem picking up my car at the same rate from Alamo, due to some partnership that they have.
I get to Alamo and they first say they don't have a car. Then they "find" a car for me but want to charge me more than double my rate per day - $100 PER DAY!
I book a room at the hotel down the street.
I ask the Alamo manager to take me to the hotel so I can pick up my car at Enterprise in the morning or to have his shuttle driver take me.
He says he can't do that. But that the shuttle driver can take me back to the airport.
REALLY!?!?!?!

So I load up and go back to the airport.
Then I take a taxi to the hotel.
By the time I get checked in, it is now 3:30AM.
I take a quick shower and try to calm my brain and go to sleep.
Couple hours later, I get up and get my car at Enterprise.

MERCY!

When of the funniest things that happened was when I checked in at the hotel and was talking to her about my taxi ride - which was like a 3 mile distance! She said that if I could have just waited another hour, the shuttle would be running for the morning! REALLY!!?!
