I was on I-10 a lot this past week with and without Jasmine in Louisiana. By the time I return my rental car, I will have been in Louisiana from Sunday to the following Wednesday AND will have gone over 1300 miles. Now that isn't a ton of miles, but just consider I haven't gone more than two hours away from any of my starting points.
New Orleans --> Baton Rouge = 1 hour
New Orleans --> Lafayette = 2 hours
Baton Rouge --> Breaux Bridge = 1.5 hours

Now I enjoy both the stretch of drive from New Orleans to Baton Rouge AND the drive from Baton Rouge to Lafayette. On the first drive, I get to drive over the Bonnet Care Spillway

Then the drive from Baton Rouge to Lafayette, there is an 18-mile (29 km) stretch of elevated highway between Lafayette and Baton Rouge is known as the Atchafalaya Swamp Freeway, as it goes over the Atchafalaya River, across the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, and the adjacent swamps. I love this drive as well.

This past week, on the drive from New Orleans heading west to Baton Rouge, I saw accidents TWICE that way backed up I-10 all the way into Baton Rouge.
In one of the accidents, one man died. In the other accident, 5 individuals died. Very Sad!

Jasmine and I got to drive on the Causeway as well which goes over Lake Pontchartrain. The longer of the two bridges is the seventh-longest in the world, measuring 23.87 miles

I LOVE THE SWAMPS AND THE WATER OF LOUISIANA.
