Guest had a long day of travel....

I met a guest tonight in the lobby. His name is Antonio. He traveled from an airport that was 2 hours east of Mexico City - in Pueblo - today. His journey started there but then he flew into Tijuana. Then he waited for 40 minutes for a rental car. They finally came to get him but then didn't have a car ready. He took a taxi to the border. Then he took the trolley into San Diego and rented a car at the Alamo at the airport. Then he drove up to Anaheim.

THEN, he came to our hotel - the Holiday Inn Express Anaheim Maingate - but his reservation wasn't at our hotel. His reservation was at the Holiday Inn Express Placentia. They have Disneyland in their name. We explained that they were about 20 minutes away. He was obviously disappointed, tired and upset. We were able to call and get his reservation moved over to our hotel. Granted, I heard about it from the manager at that hotel later in the night. But the right thing was to take care of the guest and we did that!

Just as a side note, he went to school at University of North Texas.
Such an opportunity I have to meet so many different people. I love it.

Here was the funny thing that he said - I asked if he was doing Disney. He said yes, he had his wife and two kids with them. When I asked if he was spending all 5 days of his vacation, he said they were going to play until his money ran out! LOVE IT
