My second flight today from Houston to New Orleans gave me the opportunity to meet another nice couple. They just got married three months ago. They have a home in Tucson and in Wisconsin and she also has a condo in San Diego. She used to be a buyer and worked often with Kohls so had heard of Menomonee Falls (where we used to live and where kohls is based).

She had never heard of kayak or tripadvisor. So we had a moment of education there.

Then she told me that they were renting a car and traveling to the gulf coast - Alabama - to be beachside for the week. They are going to travel back to New Orleans and spend a few days before heading home. We talked about some of my favorite things to do in NOLA.

One of the funny things she said during our short flight was this....
"I was standing behind a very upset customer in a National Car Rental line. He went on and on about how he worked for Exxon and how dare they get his reservation wrong. And don't they know that if he puts in the ____ number, that his rates should be taken care of." Well my new friend said she sure did write that number down, along with everyone else in line and she has been using that discount code ever since - she said like 20 years! Crazy!
