We went to dinner tonight at the Houston Galleria. It reminded me of when I was a little girl - maybe 10 years old. I had an ice skating party there. We even got to go to the TGIFriday's. I can remember that my cousin Amanda (my BFF) and my cousin Laura were both there. It was great fun. What a memory!
Have you ever been ice skating in the Houston Galleria?
How about ever ice skating in general?

I also had a memory of my first "date". I remember we went to a movie at the Galleria (at least that is what I remember). And I definitely remember what I was wearing. Red Girbaux Shorts with a white t-shirt and white keds. Makes me laugh just to think about what a dork I was.

Another memory that I have of the Galleria is remembering that I wanted a new pair of jeans when I was in elementary school. There was a Christmas concert and I needed a new pair of jeans. Keep in mind I was spoiled. We shopped at Gap for my jeans. Mom always said part of the reason was because I was so tiny and they carried my size. Anyway, Memorial City Mall's Gap didn't have the size and the Galleria did. Now Galleria wasn't right next door to our house and so I remember Mom making the trek with me over to the Galleria to get the very specific very tiny pair of jeans for me to wear for the Christmas concert. What a good mom I had!

  2. Celia again - There used to be a candy shop in the Galleria that sold the lonnnnnnnng red rope licorice. We used to drive to the Galleria just to buy some licorice!!! The Galleria was always beautiful at Christmas.I remember shopping there because they had some great kids' shops. One time going to my car I had one small package with some yarn in it and some guy ran by me and snatched it. He was probably really surprised when he looked into the bag!! Thank goodness he did not get my purse!!! That was in daylight!! I'm having a "senior moment" and I can't remember the ritzy department store at the Galleria. I just remembered - Neiman Marcus!!!!
