So there were two girls next to me on my last flight. The girl in the middle seat is shown below in this picture standing up. Interesting story....
She is 25 years old and lives in Dallas. (Her flight went through Houston) She grew up in Phoenix. She moved when she was 20. She has kept in touch with the boy seen below in the white shirt. They are best friends. However, she is married and has a two year old. The girl sitting down is white shirt boy's girlfriend. She paid to fly the best friend from Dallas to surprise him for his 25th birthday. I don't know about all that but she was super excited to see him and it was fun to watch her surprise him. The girlfriend had told him that they were going on a trip for his birthday and that is how she got him to the airport. They were sitting at Starbucks "waiting for their flight" when he was surprised.

Now the other girl that was in my row, was total Ms Texas. She grew up in West Texas. Had blonde hair and a beautiful smile. She went to Texas Tech and graduated in Hospitality & Facility Management. After one internship at a Ritz Carlton in Dallas, she put two and two together and realized that hotels were open 365 days a year and decided that wasn't for her. She married her college sweetheart 6 weeks ago and they live in Austin (she had to fly through Houston as well). She is working in commercial real estate now. Her husband is in Phoenix for a seminar for work and it had been a whole week she had seen him. She was giddy with joy because they had never been apart that long and she was flying to Phoenix to spend the weekend with him.

Now here is one of the interesting things
Both of these girls had parents who got divorced
Both of these girls had parents who got remarried to each other
Then Both of these girls had parents who divorced each other AGAIN
Ms West Texas' mom never has remarried. Her dad is on his 4th marriage.
And the other girl said that her mom remarried and is happy and she likes her stepdad. Her dad never married again.

What are the chances? I thought that was so unusual.

Here is something that went through my mind when they were yapping with each other on the flight. I have been on both the receiving end of a surprise and the giving end. I love it either way. I can remember when I gave a surprise baby shower to Jodi Cope. Jodi, in turn, gave me a surprise birthday party that I will never forget - complete with a trip to the spa, shopping, AND lunch with the ladies.
And then there was the time that I threw a surprise baby shower for Lindsay. I flew in for the event. :) Those were good times.
I also remember when I surprised Bret with a birthday party. He had no idea. He walked around for the first 20 minutes or so in a complete DAZE.

Look here for a slideshow of my surprise party pics with Bret.
